FIRST and OASIS to host Borderless Cyber Conference and Technical Symposium

Event to take place at the Prague Marriott on 6-8 December 2017

19th November 2017Headlined “Cyber Threat Intelligence Matters”, The Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST) and the OASIS international standards consortium will host a unique, two-day conference to help organizations identify and avoid some of the biggest pitfalls in threat intelligence.

The conference program brings together the OASIS Borderless Cyber and FIRST communities to provide guidance, outline next steps, and identify available resources to help you deal with imminent or emerging cyber threats.

With today’s cyber threat landscape evolving hourly, dealing with the latest sophistication and dynamics requires you to apply threat intelligence efficiently and effectively. In an effort to drive smarter security processes, resources must be united behind a common approach to defense and take decisive action to keep your organization on course.

Luc Dandurand, Event Chair and Head of Cyber Operations for Guardtime noted, “Our Program Committee worked hard to ensure a varied program for professional development that includes a combination of formal and informal activities designed to facilitate networking and exchanges among participants.”

The presentations will include actionable advice from experts including:

  • Richard Struse - Chief Strategist For Cyber Threat Intelligence, The MITRE Corporation
  • Alexandre Dulaunoy - Security Researcher, CIRCL (Computer Incident Response Center Luxembourg)
  • Chris O'Brien - Director Intelligence Operations EclecticIQ
  • Masato Terada - Chief Coordination Designer at HIRT (Hitachi Incident Response Team)

Thomas Schreck, Chair of FIRST, said: “The overarching goal is to help security-conscious organizations identify and avoid some of the biggest pitfalls in threat intelligence. With this program of speakers, and the combined experience of our communities, I expect the event will help organizations make threat intelligence an even greater contributor to a secure Internet”.

“Borderless Cyber always brings together a dynamic mix of cybersecurity professionals from the public and private sectors. Our partnership this year with FIRST adds an exciting new dimension to the program,” noted Laurent Liscia, CEO of OASIS. “Hearing everyone’s perspective-- the incident responders, the policy makers, standards developers, implementers, and other experts—will be extremely valuable.”

The event is open to all technical staff, policy and decision makers, law enforcement staff, open source security developers, senior information security managers, and maintainers of open security standards. They will leave the conference with actionable insights on how to better evaluate and defend their organizations and customers.
